Since the young age of 12 years old Tim Knight’s journey commenced at Sunny’s Grill, a bustling hub of culinary activity, where he honed his skills from 1979 to 1995. Yet, as Tim matured, his passion for the culinary arts only intensified, fueling a desire to immerse himself further in the dynamic world of hospitality, he sought to craft moments of culinary magic that would linger in the memories of his patrons. 

For Tim Knight, the restaurant scene isn't just a career—it's a calling. Opening a restaurant with his cousin on Main Street in Downtown Blowing Rock called “Knights on Main.” The restaurant fueled patrons appetites for 20 years, but with the expense of rent and the battles to upkeep a clean and well-working kitchen and with Tim being a young father, The restaurant closed down and was bought out and for a time was vacant until recently. 

The Social On Main underwent a transformative change when it was acquired by Justin Davis, but the heart and soul of the establishment remained steadfast with the return of Tim Knight as its head chef. For Tim, stepping back into the familiar embrace of The Social On Main felt like coming home. After all, this wasn't just another restaurant—it was a cornerstone of his culinary journey, a place where he had left an indelible mark on the town of Blowing Rock for nearly five decades.

Tim’s goals have continued to be the same since he began at Sunny’s grill. Wanting to keep Blowing Rock a local following and to create exquisite dishes and guaranteeing that each plate that emerges from his kitchen is a flawless representation of his vision and expertise.
